The Attorney General formed a committee to oversee the investigation initiated by the state’s security and justice services, and the incident led to tension and congestion among the families of the victims and the displaced in the camp, which prompted the government to deploy large forces around the camp to prevent any attack or reprisals against the displaced people.
The governor of South Darfur said that the investigation process went a long way and only the issue of arresting the perpetrators remained, and he clarified that the investigation will not include the entire
camp, it is only confined to sector 2 in which the incident occurred, and the governor appealed to the camp’s displaced people to cooperate with government agencies and the UNAMID mission to arrest the
perpetrators.
Hashim stated that the state government made a great effort to maintain security and reduce the tension and congestion caused by the incident, but he stressed that the tension is still in place and will
not disapear unless the perpetrators are arrested.
