June 16, 2020 (Khartoum) The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the first evacuation flights of Sudanese citizens stranded in the State of Kuwait left Tuesday for Khartoum airport.
In a press statement, seen by Darfur 24, the ministry said that all arrangements and procedures, concerning departure of Sudanese from Kuwait International Airport have been completed in the presence of both the competent security and health authorities from the Kuwaiti side, and the Chargé d’Affairs at the Sudan Embassy in Kuwait.
“All procedures were carried out in full cooperation between the Kuwaiti authorities and the members of the embassy, who in turn coordinated with all the competent authorities to return the stranded people to the country” the ministry said in a statement.
” the stranded people were tested for COVID-19 at Kuwait Airport ,and were given a medical certificate from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, stating that they were not infected from the Coronavirus” the
ministry added in a statement.
The Sudanese government had earlier announced, that it would continue taking all necessary measures for the safe return of all stranded people to the homeland.
