June 13, 2020(Nyala) The Sudanese government has sent a high-level delegation, led by Minister of Cabinet affairs, Omar Mainis to offer condolences to the family of the two people who were killed in Kalma camp for the displaced people, in South Darfur.
It’s worth noting that the delegation included the Director General of the Police Forces, deputy Commander of Rapid Support Forces, the Director General of the General Intelligence Service and
representative of the Attorney General of Sudan.
Upon arrival, the State’s government briefed the visiting delegation on the causes of the incident and the measures taken, to prevent escalation of the situation inside the camp.
Meanwhile, Minister of cabinet affairs, Omar Mainis, held UNAMID mission responsible for the security Vacuum that led to the occurrence of the incident, urging the Hybrid mission to liaise with displace people community leaders, arrest the perpetrators and bring them to a fair trial.
For his part, governor of South Darfur, Major General Hashim Khalid, said that the incident was a plan meant to abort the peace process, the agricultural season, the transitional government program, and
return Darfur to war.
Addressing Khartoum’s delegation and relatives of the victims, Lieutenant-General Abdul Rahim Hamdan Dagalo, deputy commander of the Rapid Support Forces, called on the displaced people in kalma camp,
to hand over perpetrators to legal authorities and not to allow international intelligence and the infiltrators in Darfur to ignite discord again.
