Sudan’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday rose to 5310 as 137 new infections were announced by the Sudan ministry of health.
Nine deaths were recorded from the virus on Wednesday bringing the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus to 307.
“103 patients have recovered, lifting total number of recoveries to 1625” The ministry said in a statement.
Khartoum recorded the highest figure of cases reported with 98 infections. The state also remains the epicenter for the disease.
The Ministry of Health urges citizens to stick to preventive measures such as social distancing, mask wearing and regular hand washing.
Despite the increasing figures, many Sudanese are alleging that Sudan is not testing enough and the figures might not reflect the true situation in the country.
