May31, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s federal ministry of health reported on Friday 226 new Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, raising total number of confirmed cases in the east African country to 5027.
“24 coronavirus death have been reported in Sudan, taking the death toll at 286,” the ministry said in a statement.
“151 new patients have recovered, raising total number of the recovered cases to 1423” it added.
Sudanese authorities recently closed land and sea borders in the country, in a bit to curb spread of Cornavirus.
The virus, which initially appeared in China, has infected more than five million people around the globe and has taken the lives of more than 350,000 others, while around two millions have recovered
