The security character has overshadowed features of the visit of the member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Mohammad Hassan Al-Taishi, to South Darfur, despite the state’s health crisis created
by Coronavirus pandemic.
However, South Darfur state has been facing shortages of bread flour, fuel as well as continuous interruption of electrical supply in the city of Nyala since the middle of Ramadan.
During his three day tour in south Darfur, Altaishi, paid visits to Tulus, Mershing and the border town of Um-dafouk.
Speaking after his meeting with the State security Committee in Nyala, Mohammad Hassan said the government is committed to imposing state’s authority, enforcing the law and punishing the outlaws.
” Time has come to build effective partnerships with the official security services, citizens, and popular bodies to build a true social peace” added member of the Transitional Sovereign Council.
Addressing a crowd in Tulus, the former Umma party leading figure, said the central government’s communication with localities and rural areas is important and necessary.
While interacting with signatories, native administration leaders and government officials from the localities of Rehaid Albirdi and Um-Dafouk, the visiting member of transitional government, discussed
the importance of peace, border security , enforcing the law, as well as imposing state’s authority.
It’s worth noting that some areas of Un-dafouk locality are witnessing tensions between Taisha and Falata tribes, due to security incidents, most of which were caused by thefts of livestock on both
sides.
In a related development, community leaders from the areas of Tulus and Um- Dafouk, have demanded that the government earnestly impose state’s authority, through implementing the project of collecting weapons from the hands of citizens, and form a competent commissionfrom the competent authorities to implement this project due to the fact that the proliferation of weapons is the main reason for the occurrence of tribulations and the outbreak of tribal fighting.
Wrapping up the three day tour in South Darfur, the transitional government delegation, which includes Altaishi Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Ambassador Omar Maynis and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure, visited Mersheng and Bilail localities to get acquintted with the security situations and offer condolences to the families of the victims of the traffic accident at Shangil Tobai town last week, where more than 55 people lost their lives.
