May 25, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s federal ministry of health has reported 192 new cases of the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus known as COVID-19.
This brings total number of cases in the east African country to 3820, since outbreak of the pandemic five months ago.
“I9 new fatalities have been reported in the country, lifting total of death toll to 165” Ministry said in a statement.
However, 34 patients have recovered, raising number of recoveries to 458.
Since the virus emerged in China last December, it has spread to countries of the world.
The global death toll from the novel coronavirus has exceeded 300,000 with more than 5.12 million confirmed cases, and recoveries topping 1.96 million, according to a running tally by the US’ Johns Hopkins
University.
