Nuba, Bani Amir and Habab tribes have signed a peace document in order
to bring an end to their running feud in Kassala, Eastern Sudan.
However, the agreement was inked in the presence of the two members of
the Transitional Sovereign Council, Muhammad al-Faki Suleiman, and
Hassan Muhammad Sheikh Idris Qadi, alongside the governor of Kassala
state, leaders of native administration as well as representatives of
FFC.
The reconciliation document stipulated the commitment of both
parties to the agreement, and armistice to arbitrate the voice of
reason, stop the fighting, reject violence and spread a culture of
peace and peaceful coexistence between the two parties.
Speaking at the closing meeting in Kassala, Eastern Sudan, member of
the Transitional Sovereign Council, Muhammad al-Faki Suleiman affirmed
state’s commitment to bring perpetrators to fair trial and prevent
occurrence of tribal fighting in the future.
