April 29, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s Preparatory Committee of the National Economic Conference, announced on Wednesday ,that it had postponed the economic conference, which was scheduled to be held on the second of next June.
Meanwhile, the committee added that another date would be set after the country overrides Coronavirus pandemic. It’s worth noting, that the Sudanese transitional government plans, through the conference, to come up with a road map to save the national economy after it suffered a collapse during the thirty years of the rule of the ousted President, Omar al-Bashir. The Vice-Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the National Economic Conference, Dr. Adam Al-Hureika, said that postponing the conference indefinitely does not mean stopping the preparatory work for the conference and the sectoral workshops, preparing papers and holding meetings through various means of communication. “The condition of Coronavirus pandemic, the restrictions that it has imposed on the movement and meeting of citizens, alongside the necessity of directing all available resources to confront the pandemic as well as its consequences, made the postponement of the economic conference indispensable” Adam added.
