April 23, 2020 (Khartoum) The well-known political thinker, and former
Sudan’s foreign minister, Mansour Khalid died on Wednesday in the
Sudanese capital Khartoum, after long illness, he was 89.
The late Sudanese politician was born in Omdurman in January 1931.
Mansour had assumed several positions during the military regime of
former Sudanese president, Jaafar Mohamed Nimeiri, the last of which
was Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Khalid had joined the SPL-M of John Garang which had been fighting
against the rule of the ousted President Omar al-Bashir, before
signing peace agreement in 2005, that later led to the separation of
the South from the North.
Sudanese Congress Party mourned the late, saying that Mansour had
devoted his life to serving the country through his political work and
intellectual production.
