March 7, 2020 (El-Fashir) The head of the Sudan Liberation Army (SLM), Mini Arko Minawi, has accused the forces for freedom and change of refusing to achieve peace in the ongoing negotiations in the capital of South Sudan, Juba, calling on the international community to press the group to reach a just and comprehensive peace.
Addressing a crowd of Sudanese refugees in Bergen refugee camp, in eastern Chad, Arko Minawi accused the leaders of the federal government of stealing the struggles of the Sudanese people and sitting in the government chairs.
However, Minawi urged members of the transitional government to visit the refugee camps in eastern Chad so as to see and inspect their conditions and provide them urgent assistance.
Minawi arrived at the Sudanese Refugee camp in Bergen, in eastern Chad, Saturday at the head of a high-level delegation from the movement’s field leaders, and held, upon their arrival in the camp, a series of meetings with refugee leaders.
Speakin to a crowd of refugees, Minawi said that his visit to the camp comes within the framework of his political and moral responsibilities towards the refugees, adding that the Chadian President Idris Dubai ,had recently allowed him to visit all Sudanese refugee camps to get acquainted with the conditions of the refugess on the ground
Minawi renewed his call for the transitional government to restructure the military establishment in the country so that everyone can participate in it.
