February 23,2020 (El-Fashir) World Food Program WFP has resumed distributing food rations to thousands of South Sudanese refugees who are taking refuge in the Al-Laite locality in North Darfur.
It’s worth noting that WFP stopped food distribution to South Sudan refugees in Darfur three months ago.
In a telephonic conversation with Darfur 24, Sultan Malwlal Deng, confirmed the start of food distribution to the refugees on Sunday.
“The refugees have faced very difficult humanitarian conditions in order to obtain food over the past three months” said Sultan Malwlal Deng.
“There are many women and children who are prone to malnutrition due to lack of food over the past months “added Malwal.
Approximately 17 thousands South Sudanese refugee population are living in camps in Al-Laite, North Darfur State.
The South Sudanese Refugees in Darfur are living in a dire condition and facing poor health care and inadequate humanitarian aid.
