February 21, 2020 (Khartoum) The Sudanese Professionals Association SPA has called for dismissal of the Minister of the Interior and the police Commissioner , against the backdrop of the severe repression of protesters by the authorities following the retiring of military officers.
In a related development, Sudanese police, Thursday, dispersed thousands of protesters who had gathered in the vicinity of the presidential palace in protest against the referral of army officers to a pension, which they considered an attempt by army to get rid of the military officers who had supported revolution.
According to Darfur24 reporter, police used tear gas to disperse the demonstration , causing injuries and fainting among the protesters.
In a statement extended to Darfur 24, the Sudanese professionals Association, called on the Prime Minister to open an investigation into the violence and repression against the peaceful protesters.
The constitutional documents and the police law authorize Sudanese prime minister to sack whoever suppress demonstration.
