February 21,2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s Federal Ministry of Health announced that 51 protesters were injured on Thursday as a result of excessive use force by police against peaceful demonstrators.
Sudanese police, Thursday, dispersed thousands of protesters who gathered in the vicinity of the Presidential Palace to protest against the retiring of army officers.
In a statement extended to Darfur24 on Friday, the ministry of health said that all injured people had been transferred to 3 private hospitals in the capital, Khartoum.
The statement pointed out that many tear gas bombs were shelled inside the campus of the Medical Specializations Council board of the Federal Ministry of Health, which is located in an area crowded with patients.
On Thursday, the Sudanese Professionals association had called for dismissal of Minister of the Interior and the Director-General of the police, against the backdrop of severe repression of protesters by police.
