February 19, 2020 (Khartoum) On Tuesday, a military court at the General Command of the Armed Forces in Khartoum, has brought five charges against the army colonel Ali Rizkallah.
The Colonel was captured in November 2017, after fierce battles between its forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the vicinity of the Qawra Mountains, near Kabkabiya area of North Darfur State.
The government carried out an attack against his group after he had rejected a government’s decision to collect weapons.
However, wife of the captured colonel, Zohour Haroun Hassabo, told Darfur 24 that her husband’s trial was politically motivated and lacked impartiality.
The suspect, will face death sentence if found guilty.
“According to the information of the defense authority, the court brought the five charges against him and allowed the investigators to submit his petition, before the trial was postponed for a week” said the captured colonel’s wife.
She described her husband’s situation in solitary confinement in the Military Intelligence cell as bad, as he is denied a visit and a phone, even though he is a handicapped person who moves with difficulty on his own.
