February 17, 2020 (Khartoum) A delegation from the International Criminal Court  “ICC”arrived in the capital Khartoum Monday,  to discuss  extradition of  ousted president to the Hague based court.

Spokesperson for the Sudanese Transitional Government, Minister of Information,  Faisal Mohamed Salih, has put two options for extradition of the ousted president, Omar al-Bashir , to The Hague for trial before the International Criminal Court.

“The former president, Omar al-Bashir, may be sent to The Hague for trial before the International Criminal Court, Or try him before a special or a hybrid court in Sudan” noted Faisal Mohamed Salih.

However, Amnesty International recently confirmed that the handover of al-Bashir to the International Criminal Court is a necessary step to achieve justice for the victims and their families.

In a related development, last week, Minister of information, Saleh announced that the government had agreed with armed struggle movements of Darfur region, to hand over  wanted persons to the International Criminal Court.

For his part, Sudanese Member of the Sovereign Council and the government negotiator Mohamed Hassan Al-Taishi said that they had agreed with the armed struggle movements to hand over the wanted persons to ICC  to face justice in The Hague, without specifying  timing for their extradition, knowing that the Sovereign Council will need to ratify the “Rome Statue “to allow extradition of Al-Bashir to ICC.
