On Tuesday, January 21, 2020 the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan approved the appointment of three State ministers in the government of Hamdouk, the most prominent of whom is Omar Qamar Al-Din.

The Transitional Sovereign Council spokesman, Mohamed Al-Faki Suleiman, said in a press statement on Tuesday that    Policy Coordinator of the American based Kefaya Organization, Omar Qamar Al-Din has been appointed  Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Stephen Amin, Minister of State for Labor,while Hazem Ihab, for the Ministry of Infrastructure. 

It’s to be noted that the appointment of the ministers was approved after their earlier nomination by Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk to take over the state’s ministries. 

 The newly appointed state minister for the ministry of foreign affairs, Omar Qamar Al-Din Ismail, has worked as a senior policy advisor for the American Kifaya Organization in Washington from 2007 to date. He was also a Senior Coordinator for the former US Secretary of State Colin Powell in Washington. However, he is a graduate of the Faculty of  Economics and Statistics at Khartoum university. 

Qamar Al-Din studied at Harvard University and obtained a master degree in public administration as well as a fellowship from Karr Institute for Human Rights.
