The official spokesman of the delegation of the transitional government to the Juba negotiations, Muhammad Hassan Al-Taishi, said reaching peace with all parties is not impossible, but it is not an easy process.
“Stopping the war has a price that must be paid by both the negotiating parties and the partners.” Added Al-Taishi
Speaking to reporters at Juba negotiation headquarters on Thursday, January 16, 2020 , Al-Taishi reiterated the transitional government‘s desire to pay the price of peace, while affirming at the same time the will of other parties and partners to make peace a reality.
The government delegation and Darfur movements discussed within the framework of (Darfur Track) , the issue of lands and hawakeers, which he said is an old file linked to old conflicts.
On the issue of power-sharing, pertaining to( Darfur track), Al-Taishi said there is a technical committee studying some issues.
“In an event of a breakthrough in lands and power-sharing file of Darfur Track, then there will be a major progress in other pending issues.” Al-Taishi said.
For his part, mediator, Tut Qalwak, Adviser to the President of the State of South Sudan on Security Affairs, confirmed that settlement of the political file, will automatically lead to security arrangements discussion.: ” no matter how difficult the peace process is, we will reach a solutions in the end “ said Tut Qalwak
“We are expecting the negotiation process between the Sudanese parties (the government and armed struggle movements), in Juba to be settled before the end of this month”. Concluded Tut Qalwak
