The head of the sovereign council in Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said Wednesday January 15, 2020 that what happened in the country was a mutiny , stressing that the deep state was still existing in all parts of Sudan.
In an interview on the Sudanese state TV, Al-Burhan affirmed that the mutiny had been contained with least possible losses, revealing that the authorities had offered the Operations Department of the Intelligence Service a choice to join the army.
“The financial issues of the mutineers have been dealt with and I have a belief that matter was planned and prepared in advance”. He added
The chairman of the sovereign council , reiterated that the army seized armored vehicles and anti-aircraft weapons from the insurgents , pointing out that Salah Gosh believed the intelligence service owned by him and for his protection.
“We tried to evacuate the citizens and we warned the mutineers before the storming operation” Al -Burhan Said.
He explained that any use of weapons would have resulted in civilian casualties.
The head of the Sovereign Council said there are several parties that are trying to block the march of the revolution in Sudan.
Combatants of the Operations Authority of the former security apparatus fired heavy gunfire in the air in Khartoum and El Obeid to protest against administrative and financial measures. Meanwhile, the armed forces and RSF intervened to quell the insurgency.
