The Sudanese Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdock, is expected to perform Friday prayers in Kauda, SPLM-N al-Hilu stronghold. It’s to be noted that his discussions with the movement leaders will focus on efforts that being exerted to achieve peace in Sudan .
Hamdouk’s visit is the first of its kind for a senior Sudanese official in the past years, as the region remained completely cut off from other Sudanese cities due to its control by SPLM- N al-Hilu , denying the Sudanese authorities an access.
The Sudanese government spokesperson, Minister of Information, Faisal Mohamed Saleh, said in statements on Wednesday that the Prime Minister will arrive in Kauda , Thursday, accompanied by a number of ministers and officials.
He explained that the Prime Minister will go to Kadugli and then to Kauda. The visit comes at an invitation extended to him by Abdulaziz Al-Hilu. “We are going to Kauda as messengers of peace, and the time when armed struggle movements were treated like enemies is over.” he added “The visit has a major breakthrough and is a message of peace that reflects the will to achieve peace in the country, as well as providing an opportunity to check on Sudanese citizens in this region”. He further added.
Faisal stated that Hamdouk would invite Leader Abdulaziz Al-Helou to visit Khartoum, Pointing to the delegations of the armed struggle movements that arrived in Khartoum during the last period and held meetings with their grassroots and a number of party leaders and political forces.
