A member of South Sudan mediation team in Juba, Sultan, Dayo Matouk, announced that the delegations of the Transitional Government and the SPLM-N, led by Malik Aqar, have reached agreement on most of the files of the framework agreement presented by the movement, while the files of security arrangements and governance structures remain.
Sultan told reporters in Juba on Saturday January 4, 2020 that the negotiations between the two delegations had made progress. Meanwhile, he declared the suspension of negotiation sessions until Monday for the arrival of a delegation specialized in the field of security arrangements from Khartoum to join the government’s negotiating delegation.
Matouk said the negotiations are proceeding well on” all tracks” to reach a comprehensive peace agreement.
It is worth mentioning that the Sudanese government delegation headed by member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, the official spokesperson for the negotiating delegation, Mohamed Hassan Al-Taayishi, held on Friday January 3, 2020 in Juba, a session with the delegation of SPLM-N Agar, in the presence of South Sudan mediation team.
