مقتل 4 مدنيين في هجوم بمسيّرات على الدمازين

Damazin, October 07 (Darfur24)

Four civilians were killed in the early hours of Wednesday after a drone attack targeted the Al-Hijra neighbourhood east of Damazin, the capital of Blue Nile State, according to local sources.

Sources told Darfur24 that those killed were Nahed Al-Jundi Yassin, Hanaa Al-Jundi Yassin, Masajid Jaber Idris and Jamaya Al-Nour.

The sources said another drone targeted the home of Abbas Kara, the state’s finance minister, but caused no reported casualties. They attributed the attacks to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Residents said several drones flew over Damazin early Wednesday, with explosions heard in several parts of the city, triggering panic among residents.

Blue Nile State has witnessed escalating fighting between the Sudanese army and the “Establishment” alliance, which includes the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).

The fighting has triggered successive waves of displacement from affected areas to Damazin, Al-Rusayris, Wad Al-Mahi and other parts of the state.

Amid the ground fighting, Damazin has also come under repeated drone attacks targeting sites and facilities, including vital installations. Authorities said on October 3 that RSF drones had targeted the governor’s residence and civilian dignitaries in the city.
