Data from the International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) shows that about 132,693 people were displaced from the Kordofan region between October 25, 2025, and February 22, 2026, spreading across 678 locations in 79 localities in Sudan.
The security situation in Kordofan has continued to deteriorate due to escalating clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, particularly in North and South Kordofan states, triggering repeated waves of displacement in recent months.
According to the data, the largest number of displaced people was recorded in North Kordofan State, with 30,605 individuals, followed by Khartoum State with 27,264, White Nile State with 23,405, and South Kordofan State with 15,430 displaced persons.
In North Kordofan, most displaced people are concentrated in Sheikan locality, which hosts 16,715 individuals, and Al-Rahad locality with about 9,280.
In Khartoum State, the highest numbers were recorded in Omdurman locality with 8,900 displaced people, Karari with 8,554, and Um Badda with 6,990.
White Nile State recorded the largest concentration of displaced people in Kosti locality with 12,111 individuals.
Meanwhile, in South Kordofan State, the displaced are mainly concentrated in Habila locality with 3,010 people, Al-Qouz with 3,005, and Al-Abbasiya with about 3,000.
Field teams from the Displacement Tracking Matrix also documented 85 incidents that triggered displacement in the Kordofan region during the same period, including 64 incidents in South Kordofan, 19 in North Kordofan, and two in West Kordofan.
