Kampala, February 21 (Darfur24)
The leader of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, widely known as Hemedti, arrived in Kampala on Friday morning for an official visit aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation and discussing regional developments, according to an official statement.
Hemedti, also the President of the Sudan Founding Alliance, TASIS, and his accompanying high-level delegation were received at the presidential airport in Entebbe by Ambassador Joseph Okello, Director of the Ugandan Foreign Intelligence Service, along with several government officials from Uganda.
A statement issued by the Presidential Council and reviewed by Darfur24 said Hemedti is expected to hold official talks with Ugandan leaders focusing on strengthening relations between the two countries and expanding cooperation in political, economic, and security fields. In addition, the meeting aims to address issues related to regional peace and stability.
The Sudanese delegation will brief Ugandan officials on developments in Sudan following the outbreak of fighting on April 15, highlighting its humanitarian repercussions and ongoing efforts to mitigate civilian suffering and support political solutions.
The visit forms part of broader diplomatic outreach by the Presidential Council aimed at reinforcing regional engagement and building partnerships that could contribute to stability and peace in Sudan.
