The International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) estimated that about 50,445 people were displaced from various locations across the Kordofan region between October 25 and December 17, due to escalating insecurity.

The field monitoring teams reported that 39 displacement incidents were recorded during the period, including 14 incidents in North Kordofan, 24 in South Kordofan, and one in West Kordofan.

According to the DTM, an estimated 40,350 individuals were displaced from six localities in North Kordofan State, including Umm Dam Haj Ahmed (27,575 displaced), Bara (7,565), Sheikan (2,250), Umm Ruwaba (910), West Bara (735), and Al-Rahad (1,315).

In South Kordofan State, about 9,845 individuals were displaced from nine localities, including Kadugli (2,415), Al-Abbasiya (1,725), Eastern Countryside (1,630), Hebeila (1,625), Ghadeer (825), Al-Dilling (710), Abu Karshola (500), Talodi (235), and Al-Dallami (180).

In West Kordofan, the teams reported the displacement of approximately 250 people from the city of Ghabish in Ghabish locality due to a fire.

The DTM said the Kordofan region currently hosts about 1,028,223 internally displaced persons (IDPs) across 1,914 locations in 36 localities, including 228,829 IDPs in North Kordofan, 385,850 in South Kordofan, and 413,544 in West Kordofan.
