El-Obeid, December 13 (Darfur24)

Drones believed to belong to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out two separate attacks on Saturday, east of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, targeting a civilian vehicle and a commercial truck. The strikes resulted in deaths, injuries, and significant material losses.

Sources told Darfur24 that one drone struck a civilian car while it was traveling on a road east of the city. The attack killed the driver, identified as Muhammad Afifi, instantly, and injured several civilians who were near the site. The wounded were transferred to El-Obeid Teaching Hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, another drone targeted a commercial truck loaded with food supplies in the Abu Ghar area, also east of El Obeid. The strike killed two people, injured others to varying degrees, and destroyed the food shipment.

Sources said the attacks caused widespread panic among residents in eastern El Obeid, particularly due to the targeting of civilian vehicles and commercial transport. The incidents have disrupted civilian movement and negatively affected the flow of goods to and from the city.

Amid growing fears of an imminent RSF attack on El Obeid, residents reported a new wave of displacement from surrounding areas, alongside a sharp increase in travel fares.
