Al-Nuhud, November 3 (Darfur24)

Eyewitnesses reported that a unit of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) kidnapped a trader, Osama Hussein, from the Fuga area in Al-Nuhud locality, West Kordofan State, last Thursday evening.

Witnesses told Darfur24 that a group of men wearing RSF uniforms and traveling in an armed Land Cruiser intercepted the trader as he was returning home from the market. They initially told him they needed to question him, but soon diverted their route and took him to an unknown location.

According to sources, the kidnappers later contacted Hussein’s family and demanded a ransom of 320 million Sudanese pounds for his release.

A local militia known as “Al-Fazaa” reportedly pursued the vehicle in an attempt to rescue the kidnapped trader.

About two weeks earlier, the same area witnessed the abduction of another trader, Fateh Mustafa, who was later released after a ransom of 100 million pounds was paid.

Residents told Darfur24 that the region is experiencing “unprecedented chaos,” with a surge in kidnappings, killings, and looting, noting that the area remains under RSF control.
