The former director of the State Radio and Television Corporation in Zalingei, Mustafa Fadl al-Mawla, has been arrested by security forces in Central Darfur State, reliable sources told Darfur24 on Saturday.
According to the sources, a security unit stormed his residence in Zalingei and took him to an unknown location, without granting family or visitors access.
They added that Mustafa had ceased working at Zalingei Radio since the outbreak of war in April 2023, choosing to remain at home — a decision that reportedly drew suspicion from authorities.
Meanwhile, journalist Rashid Jarad remains in detention after being arrested earlier by authorities in West Darfur State and transferred to a prison south of Nyala.
Central Darfur has been under the control of the Rapid Support Forces since last year.
