Port Sudan, September 1(Darfur 24)

The Chairman of Sudan Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, appointed on Monday Intisar Ahmed Abdel-Al Ahmed as Attorney General.

A week ago, Al-Burhan dismissed Attorney General Al-Fateh Tayfour and his first assistant, Yasser Bashir Al-Bukhari, in addition to his assistants: Amer Mohamed Ibrahim Majid, Yasser Ahmed Mohamed, and Ahmed Ali Al-Mutakasi.

The army chief directed the Public Prosecution and relevant state bodies to implement the decision.

This decision comes days after the appointment of a new president for the Constitutional Court, five years after the end of its term, as the position had been vacant since then.
