Nairobi, July 22(Darfur 24)

Identical sources reported to Darfur 24 that the competition for the position of Prime Minister( PM )in the Sudan Founding Alliance government to be announced in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has narrowed down to three candidates: Mohamed Hassan al-Ta’aishi, Ibrahim al-Mirghani, and Hamid al-Bashir.

The sources stated that ongoing consultations between the parties that signed the political charter of the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tassis) have reached their final stages, with initial consensus on the proposed names.

Two identical sources in the civil administration affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces in South Darfur had previously revealed to Darfur 24 that arrangements for hosting the announcement of the Tassis government would be completed within a short period, following the completion of administrative and technical preparations in Nyala.

A member of the administrative committee tasked with preparing the city—who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons—told Darfur 24 that rehabilitation work on a number of government institutions had been completed.

He explained that the government secretariat buildings, the guest house, the home of the army commander overlooking Wadi Nyala, and government homes in the Muwazafin neighborhood west of the market had been rehabilitated. He also explained that the Ministry of Agriculture and Urban Planning, the Radio and Television Corporation, hospitals, and other government centers in the city had been rehabilitated.

The Sudan Founding Alliance (Ta’ssis) had formed a high committee to receive the coalition’s leaders arriving in Nyala, South Darfur, as the date for announcing the parallel government approached.

Sources told Darfur 24 last Sunday that the high committee includes the coalition’s spokesman, Alaa Eldin Nugud, the head of the Supreme Council for Civil Administrations affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces, Al-Nazir Younis, and the head of the Rapid Support Forces Advisory Council, Huthayfa Abu Nuba.

The Rapid Support Forces, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, the Sudan Liberation Movement-Transitional Council, and the Sudan Liberation Forces Alliance, along with other political forces and civil administrations, reached a transitional constitution after signing a political charter under which the “Tassisl” coalition was formed.

The coalition plans to announce a parallel government consisting of a 15-member Sovereignty Council: eight members representing Sudan’s regions by virtue of their positions, seven representatives of political forces, in addition to the prime minister and an executive government.

In early July, the Tassis coalition announced the formation of a 31-member leadership body, headed by the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, while Abdel Aziz Adam Al-Hilu was picked as vice president.
