Al-Fula, July 22(Darfur 24)

Eyewitnesses revealed on Monday that the city of Al-Fula, West Kordofan State, was bombed by a drone that targeted the city’s fuel market, resulting in human and material losses.

Eyewitness Omar Abdullah told Darfur 24 that the bombing targeted the market at its peak, with many fuel traders present.

He added, “The bombing was precise, as fuel tankers were hit inside the market, resulting in a number of traders being burned to death inside their vehicles.”

He explained that the bombing occurred in the early hours of the morning, causing massive explosions and flames that completely burned several vehicles.

Another witness reported that the bombing caused panic among residents in the area, who tried to escape and avoid shrapnel and explosions, while others sought to save their belongings despite the rapid spread of the fire.

He noted that the bombing damaged a large number of vehicles inside the city’s fuel market.

In the same context, the official spokesperson for the civil administration in West Kordofan State, Hamdeen Abdel Hadi Ahmed, accused the army of launching airstrikes on the gasoline market in the city of Al-Fula, despite it being “a safe location teeming with innocent civilians and street vendors.”

He added, “This targeting led to the complete burning of the market and left dozens of victims and wounded, including women, children, and the elderly.”

Hamdeen condemned the airstrikes, calling on humanitarian organizations to monitor the violations of the army’s air force against civilians and populated areas devoid of any military presence.

It is worth noting that the city of Al-Fula has been subjected to several airstrikes since the Rapid Support Forces took control of it.
