September 9, Al-Fula — On Monday, the National Umma Party said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had arrested three figures of the party in the city of Al-Fula, capital of West Kordofan State.
The Islamic political party is widely believed to be the largest party in Sudan and has a big support base in the north and west of the country.
In a press statement, the party said that the RSF arrested Mohamed Saleh Al-Mardi Ajabna, Imad Al-Din Mohamed Ajabna, and Suleiman Al-Sadig Ahmed Al-Amin, who were on their way to Al-Fula three days ago.
In June, one of its members, lawyer Mahmoud Zayed, was detained by Sudanese military intelligence in White Nile.
The party also condemned the shelling and bombing by both the RSF and the Sudanese army across the country.
